2011 SEO Predictions

This is the 2nd day of the new year. In this post, I’ve made some bold predictions for the year 2011. As we know that Facebook is on the rise and is still rising as I write this post, however, when  I did some research on it, I found out some startling facts that I will share with you below.

The tool that I used for this prediction is Google Insight.

What is Google Insight?
Google Insights for Search is a service by Google similar to Google Trends, providing insights into the search terms people have been entering into the Google search engine. Unlike Google Trends, Google Insights for Search provides a visual representation of regional interest on a map.

SEO VS PPC VS Facebook Ads

The graphs above show the interest over time people searching for SEO, PPC (pay per click) and Facebook Ads. As you can see that PPC is quickly declining where it peak around end of 2004 and starts declining during mid of 2007. While SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is on the rise and meets PPC at the end of 2008. Although Facebook Ads is still quite new, it gain traction at the end of 2010.

Google forecast that SEO will still be on the rise in the year 2011. It also forecast that Facebook Ads will maintain a steady growth over the year 2011. So, it is high time now for businesses to keep track as to where the customer is looking for them online.

SEO VS Facebook Marketing VS Social Media Marketing

As you can see from the graph above, SEO trend dip every end of the year but it is steadily climbing upwards. While Facebook marketing and social media marketing still in its infancy stage, has not been at all significant as what the news said. It slow growth maybe attributed to many factors.

Facebook SEO VS Video SEO VS Blog SEO

As you can see from the above, blogging seo is still priority for businesses to get ahead of their competition. The graph still dip at the end of each year but climbing steady upwards. Google forecast that blogging SEO is still on the rise with Video SEO. Although Video SEO does not have that kind of big rise as compare to blogging SEO, it still maintain a steady growth over the years.

Facebook SEO is quickly coming into picture where it over takes video SEO somewhere mid of 2010. So it makes sense for business owners to take note of how to incorporate SEO into their Facebook marketing strategy.

Network Marketing SEO VS Niche Marketing SEO VS Affiliate Marketing

As we can see from the graph above the orange line is affiliate marketing SEO, blue is network marketing SEO and the red is niche marketing SEO. So as you can see affiliate marketing have several of spikes and this is due to many factors like a new system for seo is launched or new techniques being found.

While network marketing SEO has a steady grow at the start of 2009. It decline at the end of 2010 which is not surprising because at the end of 2009 it declines too. This may be attributed to festive season. However, one thing to take note, if you are in network marketing industry, this is high time for you to start learning and applying SEO.

I’ve used SEO to find leads online where I detail my progress in this blog post – How I get 1781 Visitor in 7 Days Using Free Traffic

Conclusion

From the above graphs, we can see that the trend is still SEO, whether is blogging seo, facebook seo or network marketing seo, it is still ultimately SEO. As this is naturally so because, we get online to search for information. Search engines does what is best for us – to find information easily online.

Thus, businesses naturally want to SEO  their site as compare to PPC which we see in the first graph that it is fast declining. If you are anything like me in network marketing industry, my advice to you is start learning SEO and capture more relevant target leads that will benefit you in the long run. If you are running a business, it is also time for you to invest it in a SEO consultant or a SEO company.

With that said, the above is just my prediction. I wish you all the best in your business.
